First Contact and Initial Meeting

EDG, Inc. representatives will meet with you at your project location, to discuss with you all your requirements and ideas. Additional meetings may be required, but be assured that we will work quickly to move to the next step, so that you will gain an full understanding of the available options and costs associated with your project.

Rough Estimate

The scope and price presented in the Rough Estimate are based on the design information and project specs collected up to this point. There should not be any cause for concern if you are not ready to specify all of your design choices. EDG, Inc. will base the Rough Estimate on standard high-quality material selections and allowances, and the resulting price will be a realistic representation of the Final Contract price for your remodeling project, unless significant change orders to the scope are requested.

Design Contract

Once EDG, Inc. and the client have agreed upon the scope of work and its target price, a Design Contract is presented. The Design Contract represents a commitment by both parties to proceed to the design and material selection phase of the process, with the intent to arrive at a Final Scope of Work and Construction Contract. At this point, a deposit is made with us, to cover the 10% of the total estimated costs of the project.

Construction Design Drawings

Even if you have been thinking about your project for several months, it is often difficult to visualize the major changes you are considering for your home. The Construction Design Drawings will allow you to see exactly what your ideas look on paper. We will work with you to modify the design and to value engineer the project that best fits your needs, and once the necessary adjustments have been made, the final scope of your project can be determined and completed.

Material, Fixture and Finish Selection

There are several ways to approach the selection of the materials, fixtures and finishes for your project. You can provide your own choices, have EDG, Inc. bring in our design partners to help you, or you may choose your own design professionals for this phase of the process.

Final Contract

The Final Contract presents the final fixed price contract, final design drawings, complete payment schedule and reasonably estimated project time line. After you sign this contract, all the final constructions drawings will be finalized and construction will commence following the receipt of all necessary legal permits and variances.

Construction

Depending on the nature of your project, construction can last from a few weeks to several months. You will receive weekly updates on the status of your project and the work will continue weather permitting, as efficiently as it possibly can.
