Heading into a major home remodeling project, it is very natural to be concerned about becoming involved in one of those “contractor nightmare stories” that have become all too common. That is why we have structured our company’s processes and standards with a customer focus and satisfaction in mind. EDG, Inc. is structured around core processes and principles that ensure your home renovation and new home construction experience will be an enjoyable one.

Price Contract and Schedules

Before construction begins, EDG, Inc. will present a Final Contract, which includes a detailed description of the work to be performed, final construction design drawings, final material selections, a final fixed price, a construction schedule and a complete payment schedule. Once EDG, Inc. and the client both sign these legal documents, they become the terms and conditions of construction contract and only a change order requested by the client or severe undiscovered preexisting conditions can change it.

Our Expert Teams of Craftsmen

EDG, Inc. Renovations and New Homes are supported by our team of in-house professionals and certified contractors. We have stable and long-term business relationships with all our contractors and we are fully aware of their expertise and sense of quality. More important then the third party engineering certifications, official inspections, blueprint audits and other quality checks used – we are involved in the details of every single home we remodel and build.

We hire only the most skilled and experienced craftsmen. We offer competitive pricing to our clients by managing jobs efficiently and keeping overhead low, not by cutting corners on quality. You can expect that the workers who show up on your job site will be exceptional at their trades and will show a great amount of respect for you, your family and your home.

Status Reports

Once construction begins, you will receive a status report at the beginning of every week. These reports provide an overview of the tasks completed in the previous week, the tasks that are scheduled for the week ahead and a review of payment and schedule progress. Periodically and as needed, you will receive an updated material selections list, detailing the choices you have made to that point and the due dates that upcoming choices are needed.

Inspections and Walkthroughs

Based on the nature and extent of the work, between 2 to 8 detailed walkthroughs will be scheduled during your project. These walkthroughs will involve a member of the EDG, Inc. management team and the client, and they are designed to ensure that all expectations are being met and that any changes that the homeowner may desire to make, are identified as early as possible.

How to survive a Renovation. Living on the Job Site.

Remodeling a home involves much more than choosing the right paint colors and countertops. Not only do you have to decide what you want to do, you have to figure out how to pay for it, who is going to built it, what the city/county will allow you to do and where to put your family during this process. For many people remodeling is a stressful experience, with potential pitfalls deeper than the holes you are planning to make in your walls. Let’s face it. Remodeling by its very nature, it is very intrusive.

How to survive successfully a remodeling project, it depends on the size and scope of the work to be done at your house. In the case of a major renovation project, we strongly suggest that you find a place for your family to move to until all the work is done and all the legal permits have been received. In the case of a small renovation project, living in the house is an option, but be ready to put up with noise, dust, mud, debris, power and water outages.

If choosing to live on job site is an option, during the remodeling process, EDG, Inc. will try to make your home as livable and comfortable as possible. Your job site will be clean and smoking free. Preparations for keeping your home livable will begin during our first meetings. You will know well in advance if a temporary relocation of your family and/or belongings is necessary and we will do everything we can to make sure those phases are as short and painless as they can be.
